Board of Adjustment
The Wetumpka Board of Adjustment was created by an ordinance of the City Council on April 25, 1952, as authorized by Section 11-52-80 Code of Alabama 1975. The purpose of the Board, where authorized by the City Council, is to hear and decide appeals to any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of ordinances, grant special exceptions to the terms of ordinances, and to authorize – in specific cases and as a result of special conditions – such variance from the terms of ordinances as will not be contrary to the public interest.
The Board consists of five volunteer members appointed to staggered three year terms and three supernumerary members appointed to three year terms.

The Board will hold a meeting only when an application has been submitted. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 212 South Main Street.
